MarqueeX is a free WordPress marquee plugin. It adds continuously scrolling content — scrolling text, news tickers, logo carousels, image marquees, post and WooCommerce product sliders, testimonials and team strips — as 8 native Elementor widgets and 5 native blocks for the block editor (Gutenberg).
There is no marquee limit, no watermark and no trial timer in the free version. You drop a widget or block on the page, add your content, set the speed and publish.

Why MarqueeX is lightweight
- CSS keyframe animation. The marquee widgets and blocks scroll with CSS, so the browser does the work instead of a JavaScript loop.
- Tiny scripts. Each Elementor marquee widget script is under 1 KB.
- Loads only where it is used. Scripts and styles are registered, not enqueued site-wide. A page without a marquee loads nothing from MarqueeX.
- Switch off what you do not use. Disable any widget, block or whole builder integration from the settings screen and it stops registering.
- Scoped styles. A block and its matching Elementor widget can sit on the same page without their CSS colliding.

Privacy
MarqueeX uses the Freemius SDK for licensing and optional usage insights. You are asked on activation and can skip it; if you skip, no usage data is sent. The marquees themselves make no external requests.

Will my marquees break if I upgrade to Pro, or cancel it?

No. Pro is an add-on that sits alongside the free plugin. Upgrading adds controls to the marquees you already have. Without an active license, a marquee simply falls back to its free behaviour.

- Added: Pro features are now visible rather than hidden. The eight extra Animated Heading animations, the gradient and image-mask text effects, the four extra Word Roller transitions and the Post Marquee card layouts all appear in their dropdowns marked “(Pro)”, instead of being silently absent for anyone without a license.
- Added: A first-run onboarding panel above the settings tabs, pointing you at a first marquee in the block editor or Elementor. Activation lands there; dismiss it and it never comes back.
- Added: An Elementor version check. MarqueeX needs Elementor 3.5 or newer; below that the widgets never registered, with nothing to say why.

It also no longer writes plugin marketing copy into your page description when there is no marquee text to summarize.
