FAQ answers use the lightweight Text/Quicktags editor rather than the full visual editor, keeping the admin screen fast. * A single `[unfaqproduct_waq]` shortcode that automatically detects the current product – no product ID to configure. * A classic accordion on the frontend: smooth open/close animation, only one FAQ open at a time, “Show More” / “Show Less” for long answers. * Automatic Schema.org FAQPage JSON-LD structured data, generated only when a product actually has FAQs. * A “Product FAQs” settings page (its own top-level admin menu item) where Shop Managers and Administrators can set site-wide defaults for the answer character limit and the accordion’s default open/closed state – with the option for any individual product to override either setting. * A choice of accordion toggle icon – Plus/Minus or Chevron – set once, site-wide, from the same settings page. Both are pure CSS, no images. * A Help & Guide tab on that same settings page, and a ready-to-copy shortcode box. * Full compatibility with WooCommerce’s own Products > Export/Import (CSV) tool, so FAQ data travels with your products between sites. * Zero jQuery, zero AJAX, zero external libraries. Vanilla JavaScript only, and assets are only ever loaded on the pages that actually need them. * An opt-in, unchecked-by-default setting to permanently delete all plugin data if you ever remove the plugin – by default, nothing is deleted, so your FAQs are safe even if you deactivate and remove the plugin by mistake. #### Why not ACF or a repeater plugin? This plugin was built specifically to avoid the overhead of a full custom-fields framework or repeater add-on just to manage product FAQs. Upload the `waqfaq-for-products` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install it directly through the Plugins screen in WordPress. 2. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen. 3. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active – this plugin requires it. 4. Open any WooCommerce product for editing. You’ll see a new “Product FAQs” panel above the Product Data panel. 5. Add your questions and answers, then update/publish the product. 6. Add the `[unfaqproduct_waq]` shortcode to that product’s description (or any template that renders shortcodes) to display the FAQs. 7. Optional: visit the new “Product FAQs” menu item in the WordPress admin sidebar to set site-wide display defaults, or check out the Help & Guide tab there for a full walkthrough. ## Tanya Jawab ### Do I need ACF, a repeater plugin, or Elementor for this to work? No. Everything needed to add and display FAQs is built into this plugin. ### Where do I put the shortcode? Anywhere WordPress renders shortcodes – most commonly a product’s description field. You can copy the exact shortcode tag from the “Product FAQs” settings page. ### Can I change the character limit before “Show More” appears, or whether the first FAQ starts open? Yes, both from the “Product FAQs” settings page (applies to every product by default), and per-product from that product’s own Product FAQs panel (overrides the site-wide default for that one product only). ### Does FAQ data survive a product export/import? Yes. It travels automatically with WordPress’s own Tools > Export/Import, and with WooCommerce’s Products > Export/Import (CSV) tool via a dedicated column. ### What happens to my FAQ data if I delete the plugin? Nothing, by default. Your FAQ data and settings are left in the database untouched unless you’ve explicitly checked “Delete all FAQ data and settings when this plugin is deleted” on the Product FAQs settings page beforehand. ### Does this plugin use jQuery or make AJAX calls on my storefront?
