## Deskripsi

WordPress’s standard URL embedding feature only works with WordPress sites.

This plugin was created to display any link destination as a stylish card with thumbnails.

Just paste the URL into the block editor. Blog cards are displayed in an instant.

New features from version 2.0.0 include the ability to create blog cards from site
search.
This allows you to search for articles within your own site and convert
them into blog cards.

> **Important Notice:**
> Starting from version 2.1.0, the block is rendered dynamically
> on the server side to improve stability. **Note:** Manual edits made via “Edit
> as HTML” will be reset to the standard design. If you see “Attempt Block Recovery”
> after updating, please click the button to recover the block.

### External services

This plugin relies on the following third-party service.

**Google Favicon Service** (https://www.google.com/s2/favicons)

When a blog card has no favicon of its own, the card falls back to a favicon supplied
by Google. The image is requested by the visitor’s browser while the page is being
displayed, so the visitor’s IP address, user agent, and the domain name of the linked
site are sent to Google.

This happens only on pages that contain a blog card whose favicon could not be determined
when the card was created.

 * Terms of service: https://policies.google.com/terms
 * Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Separately, when you create or refresh a blog card, your server fetches the page
at the URL you entered in order to read its title, description, thumbnail and favicon.
That request is made by your site, not by your visitors, and it sends no information
about them.

### Key Features

 * **Easy Operation**: Simply enter a URL and press Enter to instantly generate
   a blog card
 * **Universal Compatibility**: Works with non-WordPress sites (note, Zenn, Qiita,
   GitHub, etc.)
 * **Automatic Metadata Fetching**: Automatically retrieves title, description,
   and thumbnail images

 * **Responsive Design**: Beautiful display on mobile devices

 * **Site Search**: Search and convert internal posts into blog cards
 * **Dark Mode Support**: Switches to a dark palette while the page has a data-theme
   =”dark” attribute
 * **Advanced Management**: Configure default link targets, cache duration, and
   manual favicon support

## Tanya Jawab

### Can any site URL be converted to a blog card?

Yes, basically any site URL can be converted to a blog card. However, some sites
may not allow metadata retrieval.

### Can retrieved metadata be edited?

Yes, title, description, and thumbnail images can be edited later. Link attributes(
target, rel, etc.) can also be changed freely.

### How is caching managed?

Retrieved metadata is automatically cached and displayed quickly for the same URL.
The cache can be cleared manually from the “Cache Management” section of the block
settings sidebar, either for the selected card or for all blog cards. The cache
lifetime is configured under Settings > SU Blogcard.

### Does it display correctly on mobile?

Yes, it supports responsive design and displays beautifully on mobile devices.

### Does it affect SEO?

By setting appropriate rel attributes (nofollow, etc.), you can create SEO-friendly
links.

## Log Perubahan

#### 2.5.1

 * “External Link Target” in Settings > SU Blogcard now offers a “None” option as
well, just like “Internal Link Target”. The default for external links is still“
   _blank”.

#### 2.5.0

 * Blog cards linking to your own site now open in the same tab by default, without
a target attribute. “Internal Link Target” in Settings > SU Blogcard gains a “
None” option, which is the new default. If you have saved this setting before,
   your saved value is kept.
 * Cards without a saved link target now follow the defaults in Settings > SU Blogcard
instead of always opening in a new tab. This covers cards created before the
settings page existed and cards created manually. Because “_blank” used to be
the built-in default, it was never saved, so internal cards you set to “_blank”
on purpose now open in the same tab too. Set them to “_blank” again if needed.
 * rel=”noopener” is now added by default only when a card opens in a new tab or
window, since it has no effect on links that open in the same tab. Cards where
   noopener was saved keep it.
 * Japanese translation: spacing and punctuation now follow the WordPress Japanese
translation style guide, and the plugin description is translated.

#### 2.4.4

 * The plugin can now be translated into any language through translate.wordpress.
org. Until now only Japanese and English were available, and other locales fell
   back to Japanese.
 * Japanese UI: the refresh button under the preview now uses the same wording as
   the one on the card.
 * The support section now points to the WordPress.org support forum.

#### 2.4.3

 * Minor bug fixes.
 * Reworked the dark mode palette.

#### 2.4.2

 * Fixed the destination URL and domain shown for a card not updating when the linked
page redirected elsewhere; this also fixes thumbnails and favicons on such pages
   when written as relative paths.
 * Fixed a PHP warning on pages containing a card whose link has no host, such as
   a mailto: link.
 * The shared favicon and site icon shown in blog cards now come from your Site
Icon setting first, avoiding an extra request to your own site when one is set.
 * Fixed “Clear all blog cards’ cache” silently failing to clear anything on hosting
whose object cache cannot clear a single group at once; it now explains why and
clearing an individual card’s cache still works.
 * Fixed the block editor crashing on Safari versions older than 17.
 * Fixed missing styling on the “Clear this blogcard’s cache” button, and silenced
deprecation warnings this block’s settings triggered on older WordPress versions.

#### 2.4.1

 * Security: the “Check Link” button now opens the linked page with noopener, so
the opened page can no longer navigate your editor tab.
 * Fixed pasting a link to a large file (such as a video or a ZIP archive) exhausting
the server’s memory. Only the first 2MB of a page is read now, which is plenty
   for its metadata.
 * Fixed a card for your site’s front page still showing the title and description
of a former static front page after switching the homepage back to “Your latest
   posts”.
 * Fixed broken thumbnails for pages whose og:image is written as a relative path.
 * Fixed the site search dropdown never showing post excerpts.
 * Updated “Tested up to” to WordPress 7.1.

#### 2.4.0

 * New: Added a “Refresh” button to existing blog cards. It fetches the linked page
again without using the cache, lists what changed, and lets you undo the update
in one click. Cards you created manually can be refreshed too, after a confirmation.
 * Fixed a favicon lookup that merely timed out being saved as “no favicon”, which
dropped the icon from a card that previously had one.
 * Fixed favicons written as protocol-relative URLs (//example.com/favicon.ico)
   never being found.
 * Fixed links whose host is a bare top-level domain being treated as pages on your
own site, which produced a “post not found” error instead of a card.
 * Fixed settings and cached data being left behind after uninstalling with “delete
   all data” enabled.
 * Fixed the editor preview ignoring the target and rel settings, so it now matches
   the published card.

#### 2.3.9

 * Fixed a bug in cache clearing. “Clear this blogcard’s cache” now clears only
   that one card.
 * Fixed garbled titles and descriptions on pages published in Shift_JIS or EUC-
JP. This also stops deprecation notices on PHP 8.2 and later.
 * Fixed the interface not being translated.
 * Fixed an endless chain of internal requests when a card pointing at the front
page was placed on that same page.
 * Fixed a failed favicon or OG image lookup for your own site being cached for
   a long time.
 * Made site search and favicon checks lighter.
 * Unified outgoing requests on WordPress’s safe HTTP functions, and added validation
   of settings values.

#### 2.3.8

 * Fixed the plugin writing diagnostic messages to the server error log during normal
operation. These are now written only when WP_DEBUG is enabled.
 * Internal code cleanup to follow the WordPress Coding Standards. The appearance
and behavior of blog cards are unchanged.

#### 2.3.7

 * Simplified the block’s dark mode color handling to work reliably regardless of
   the active theme.

 * Added a banner image for the plugin directory.
